The Bible tells us that God sent
Philip an angel and the angel of the Lord said to Philip: "Arise
and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto
Gaza, which is desert. " Acts 8:26.
Philip was sensitive toward the voice of the Holy
Spirit and obeyed the angel and as he went to join the carriage in which
the courtier was sitting, he heard him reading the prophet Isaiah. Acts
8:30.
Philip asked the man: "Do you understand what you
are reading?" And he answered: "How can I, except some man should
guide me?" So he asked Philip to get in and sit
beside him. Acts 8:31.
Philip began to teach the man and explained to him about
the precious gift of the salvation and sanctification that God has given
us through Jesus Christ. This story tells us that the courtier received
the message of Jesus Christ and was baptized through faith in Jesus Christ
and afterwards he went on his way rejoicing. Acts 8:32-39.
If God had not sent this angel to Philip, the courtier
would not have been able to receive this wonderful salvation and sanctification
in Jesus Christ.
In another event you see how the angel of God had a message
till human beings in great distress when Paul is on his way to Rom. There
was a storm and when it looked like the ship was going under and sink,
an angel appeared unto Paul and said: "Do not be afraid, Paul. It is
ordained that you shall appear before the Emperor." Paul
told all those on board that all of them were going to be rescued from
drowning. Acts 27:24.
In this bibletext we see that God in his boundless
grace sent an angel who enlightened Paul that he and the other on board
the ship were to be rescued. God's purpose with the appearing angle was
also to let Paul preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Emperor in Rom.
These two events clearly show that the angels of God are always involved
in the salvation and sanctification of Jesus Christ.
There are a couple of similar testimonies in the Bible
describing the intervention, the protection and the help of the angels
regarding people in great distress. And these angels of God are today still
working in the same way.
It is tragical when you go into a library or a bookshop
and find a lot of books describing demons, occultism and the devil. You
also often hear about neardeath-experiences or appearance of ghosts in
some radio- and TV programmes. In many of these programmes you hear ungodly
people talk about seeing a light on the other side in the spiritual world.
They speak from conviction about the fact how beautiful and wonderful everything
is on the other side and how it shines of glory and of light.
The Bible teaches that the devil is a real being who is
active in this physical world along with his evil rulers of the darkness.
They stop at nothing to foil and destroy the deeds of Jesus Christ. They
are able to get into the spirit of men and use human beings as instruments
for their evil deeds.
The word of God tells us that the wicked angels have a
much larger influence upon men and their minds in our world than we are
aware of. The aim of the evil demonical forces is to mislead people through
false visions and revelations in order to make people spread these false
informations that are not from God and at the same they destroy the salvation
of Jesus Christ on Golgotha.
Against the false visions and testimonies of these people
the Bible teach us that the ungodly human being must be born over again
in spirit and in truth and if she does not get born over again she cannot
enter the Kingdom of God. John 3:1-7., 12:24-26.
These people who give their testimony of near-death-experiences
saying they have seen a light on the other side and that it is so wonderful
after death; they are deceiving people in such way that they are undoing
the salvation of Jesus Christ on Golgotha. The aim of their message is
that people don't have to repent from their wickedness and their sinful
lifes since they can enter the Kingdom of God anyway. In their ignorance
and spiritual blindness they declare in their misleading stories that no
matter how ungodly and evil man is here on earth she will experience the
light and the glory on the other side after death without turning away
from the power of satan to the power of Christ.
In this dark play of antichrist the Radio and TV contribute
with their programmes about near-death-experiences, which seduce the people
who believe these misleading messages. And so say the word of God regarding
those who preach ungodly messages: "Alas for the world that such
causes of stumbling arise! Come they must, but woe betide the man through
whom they come! " Matt. 18:7.
People don't talk very much about the existence and
the work of the good angels here in this world and therefore the message
of them has been cleared away and has been forgotten. But the Bible mention
several times how the good angels at all times have helped people in great
distress.
There are good angels that all of the time are keeping
watch over us. According to the Bible there are different kinds of angels
that each one of them has their own specific definite mission. These angels
are servants of God, helping the children of God, the sanctified ones through
their spirit, who are struggling here in this world against the power of
darkness and who are able to say, just like Paul said: "The life
I now live is not my life, but the life which Christ lives in me."Gal.
2:20.
This means that the person who has Jesus Christ living
in the spirit has become the owner of the Spirit of Love, Purity, Righteousness,
Humbleness, Gratitude, Peace and Joy within her spirit. These divine Spirits
work all of the time together with the different kinds of angels who have
the same Spirit. And the word of God says regarding this fellowship: "But
if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one
with another......" 1 John 1:7.
A lot of people have at some occasion in their lifes
been exposed to an immediate danger or met with a bad accident but in a
miraculous way been rescued. There is no other explanation to such a rescuing
than it must have been an angel of God who intervened and prevented the
accident.
Some people say they have a guardian angel. Some people
often incorrectly call this guardian angel to be a lucky chance or Destiny.
The reason for people using words as "lucky chance"
or "Destiny" is, they are not willing to admit that it is The Mercy and
Godness of God that is behind the miraculous rescuing. They don't want
to and they don't dare to see the real truth that it is an intervention
of God. Jesus Christ has enligthened us of the real truth concerning these
terrible events that people sometimes are exposed to with these words:
"God
makes his sun rise on good and bad alike." God is Love
and He watches over all people with His boundless Grace and Mercy. Matt.
5:45.
Concerning men who want to live in righteousness before
God and meet scorn,contempt and persecution for the sake of the Holy Word
of God, Paul describes the presence of the angels in the following way:
"For
it seems to me God has mad us apostles ......a spectacle to the whole universe
,angels as well as men." 1 Cor. 4:9.
The psalmist enlightens us: "The angel of the
LORD is on guard round those who fear him and rescues them." Psalms
34:7.
A lot of events in the Old and the New Testament bear
witness about the help of the angel of the Lord concerning people. A lots
of people who today are in despair and captured in unbelief, in fear and
in anxiety have the possibility to get help and deliverance if she only
dare trusting the word of the Lord, which creates peace, joy and happiness,
because God is faithful and He will never break His promises.
Therefore I will ask you who are in a difficult situation
and suffer, especially to listen to the singer who declare the Grace and
the Godness of the Lord in this song: "If your path is blocking of great
obstacles and of mountains who are extremely high, believe in the Lord
because nothing is impossible to Him, He is able to do what men cannot
do." God bless you that you might be sensitive towards the voice of the
Spirit.
